Project Director – Auckland

The opportunity

We are a leading Project Management & Advisory company within the property industry looking for a Project Director.  We have completed a myriad of landmark projects across New Zealand, resourced by an award winning team of talented project managers and directors.

You will be working out of the company’s headquarters based in Newmarket and at times also working closely with staff from the other offices around the country. You will be joining a highly skilled group of professionals who are focused on providing a fantastic experience and positive outcome for their clients. You will be part of a forward thinking and innovative management team who will encourage your insight, input and passion in developing and growing the business and securing new opportunities.

This role will suit someone with a proven and sound track record working on New Zealand based projects within a consultancy environment working at Project Director level.  You will need to be able to demonstrate the skills to be a dynamic leader and set an example for the rest of the team to follow. You will need to have a true passion for the industry and come with a myriad of skills across various sizes and types of projects.

The office environment is one of collaboration and you must have the energy to hit the ground running with a challenging workload and be naturally motivated to get the job done by pulling resources together in a timely fashion.

Your background

Experience – To thrive in this role you will have a minimum of ten to fifteen years experience within a complex professional services environment with the relevant tertiary qualifications and previous experience working on New Zealand based commercial/retail projects.

Skills – You will have a myriad of projects under your belt where you have been managing teams, working to annual plans, forecasting and other business matters such as workforce planning, as well as actually getting stuck into the day to day hands on project management work.

Planning – You will be competent at working with and being part of a wider strategic plan and ensure that all activities relate back to the main objectives, goals and vision of the organisation.

People – You will enjoy developing a sustainable workforce and encourage a supporting environment from which junior members of the team will learn.

Clients – Your relationship and rapport building skills with people will be excellent as you will naturally be a “people person” capable of building and cementing relationships at all levels.

Business Development – You will be adept at creating new opportunities to develop further business with both new and existing clients.

Systems – You will be competent operating QMS or ISO management system and have the ability to run with existing defined procedures, processes and systems.
