20 YEARS OF GREENSTONE GROUP

20 Years ago, two guys started up a business that undertook a little bit of Project Management and Property Advisory for a select group of clients. The dream at that early stage was to grow to a 6 person team and maybe, one day, have an actual office.

What Kevin Cox and John Abel-Pattinson didn’t realise is that they had actually stumbled upon an untapped, niche market in the property industry by delivering client focused Project Management and Property Advisory services.

Quickly reacting to the demand the business was receiving, three more Project Managers joined being Chris Hale, Lance Painter and Rob Dol, all of whom are still in the business. Greenstone’s growth over the past 20 years has been substantial, and although unexpected, the Property Advisory and Project Management business continued to grow at a steady pace.

Greenstone now have 4 offices across the country with a whopping 55 employees. The combined experience of the business now provides expertise in the Residential, Tertiary/Education, Retirement, Commercial, Retail, Industrial and Recreational sectors. The business now manages over 250 projects per year.

Greenstone celebrated its 20th Birthday by bringing together our team from all the offices to play TaskMaster and have a few celebratory drinks. It was a low key, and easily contact traced, internal company day. A long overdue team bonding experience, reconnecting after months of communicating through screens. A great culture is the foundation of Greenstone’s DNA. Our people are our greatest resource and working in an enjoyable space is what helps that culture grow.

Kevin and John, now clients of the firm, attended the day sharing a few reflections and cutting the delicious cake made by our very own Donna Young. They were delighted that after 20 years of substantial growth, the culture was still alive and well within the team.

Putting our people first has definitely been a recipe for success for Greenstone Group. So to all our past and present employees, thank you for making Greenstone what it is today. We could not have done it without you.

Lastly we would like to say a very special thank you to all our clients over the years. Many of you have been there from the beginning. That is a testament to our quality and longevity and we hope to be still working with you for the next 20 years. Perhaps we will get a chance to celebrate those relationships at our 21st!
