Long Bay Village

The vision for Long Bay Village is of an inspiring and innovative village that strengthens the community by bringing people together and then bringing them back for more. Compelling qualities include; a unique style, setting, atmosphere, combination of offerings, plus exemplary standards and unfailingly superior visitor experiences will establish the village’s position as a highly desirable North Shore destination. Greenstone Group entered the project at the developed design stage after the resource consent was lodged.

“First, to be the heart of the new community, providing all the services, anchored around the supermarket and second to be a destination seaside village for a broad range of Aucklanders visiting the regional park. Greenstone Group successfully ran an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI). This was a collaborative process with clear objectives and ‘best for project’ behaviours which can add value to a client’s procurement. In order to obtain consent we suggested staging the project in order to de-risk it and consulted with Council constantly to ensure that the building consent was obtained. This process involved liaising with multiple stakeholders and the outcome we obtained was greatly appreciated by our client.

In addition to this, the design management for this project was higher than normal being a traditional build. We needed to coordinate with the various consultants in order to ensure things were going according to programme. As a master-plan concept Long Bay has been developed according to a comprehensive approach to building a community. From innovative design features to convenience to recreation and sustainability, every aspect has been carefully considered to ensure a superior residential environment. The establishment of a diverse range of quality retail, commercial and food and beverage offerings will serve the local community and visitors alike.

Long Bay Village is transformational in both physical appearance and community function. It is a high amenity, integrated environment that enables people to enjoy living, working and relaxing in new and engaging neighbourhoods.
