Ideas
The vision for this project was to create a new open plan office of approximately 1050m2 over two levels. The new headquarters needed to reflect the aspirations of our client, New Zealand National Fieldays Society Inc, who are responsible for staging
some of the nation’s leading exhibition events.
Transformation
When the new Mystery Creek headquarters was significantly over budget at the completion of the developed design stage, Greenstone Group’s innovative project management approach was brought in to lead and refocus the existing project
team and address the critical issues.
The initial focus of our strategy was to undertake a peer review of the project briefing and design documents, then make recommendations to get the project back on budget. Our commercial office and construction experience allowed us to achieve this
by suggesting alternative specifications, enabling the project to move ahead without greatly changing the design intent or scope. Taking over the design management role from the architects, Greenstone Group worked with the project team to value engineer the project down considerably.
Reality
The new headquarters was a turnkey delivery that included landscaping, internal finishes, FF&E and audio-visual components. The completed building has an exceptional standard of finish that respects the long-term ownership model of our client. Through Greenstone Group’s expert project management, our client’s building
is an event in itself.
