Hobsonville Point, Auckland

Brickworks is a mixed-use/residential development at Auckland’s Hobsonville Point. The development includes four separate and distinct buildings around a central courtyard. Each building contains residential apartments (one, two and three bedroom and maisonettes), as well as retail and commercial units at ground level.

Greenstone Group is currently engaged as the Project Manager and Engineer to the Contract for this development, which is mid-construction. Our key responsibilities include client liaison, project strategy and leadership, as well as managing design, contract and changes throughout the development.

Challenges involved in this project have so far included the implementation of mixed-use development, achieving quality standards of design, finishes and fittings superior to other apartments developments, and unusual ground conditions that require innovative design solutions in order to keep the project within budget restraints.

Through effective management of the programme requirements and key milestones, Greenstone Group was able to ensure funding and unconditional contract award of this project. We also developed a procurement strategy to achieve client and funder requirements. Client, consultant and contracting teams were integrated to promote a collaborative approach to completing this project successfully.
